Audrey S. Cimino, Esquire is one of the Founders and the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Carroll County, Inc. In addition to starting the local Community Foundation, she was instrumental in starting a Community Foundation in Parnu County, Estonia. She provides council and technical assistance to many Carroll County Nonprofit Organizations. Prior to assuming her position with the Community Foundation, she was a Vice President and Trust Business Development Officer for Carroll County Bank and Trust Company, now BB and T.
Mrs. Cimino’s Undergraduate and Law Degrees are from Essex Community College, The University of Baltimore and The University of Baltimore School of Law. Mrs. Cimino has served on the Board of Directors of a number of professional and local charitable organizations including University of Baltimore Board of Governors, Baltimore Estate Planning Council, Carroll Hospital Center Foundation, Family and Children’s Services of Central Maryland, The Carroll County Guardianship Commission, The Community Services Council of Carroll County, The Shepherd’s Staff, Voices for Children of Carroll County, Corbett’s Charge, The Children’s Chorus, of Carroll County, Volunteer Carroll, The Literacy Council of Carroll County, Inc., United Way Local Partnership Board, CHANGE, Inc., Carroll County Land Trust, The Taneytown History Museum, The Carroll Strings School, The Kiwanis Club of Greater Westminster, and The Vagabond Players in Baltimore, MD.
Mrs. Cimino is a resident of Westminster, MD, married to Joseph M. Cimino, the mother of five, Grandmother to 10 and Great grandmother of one.
A native of Centreville, Maryland, David has decades of experience as a writer, journalist, publicist, and communications professional. David has a wide range of experience in public relations and got his start after interning at a DC think-tank. In addition to his award-winning journalism (Vice-Versa, 1999, Best Celebrity Interview; Messenger-Anderson Scholar, 2000), David is also a published poet and an accomplished performer. Over the course of his career, David has helped numerous nonprofit clients, politicians, individuals, and businesses amplify their message. Media for the Masses is more than a cutline: it’s David’s personal mission. Fun Fact: As a reporter, David interviewed both Larry King and Melissa Etheridge in the same night.
David is the cofounder and Director of Sales and Marketing for Vox Pop Communications.
Since retiring from Verizon in 2000, Don Lavin has been a lecturer and member of the faculty in the Economics and Business Administration Department at McDaniel College. He teaches classes in Corporate Finance, Marketing, Business Ethics, Auditing, Investments, and Tax Accounting.
Don retired from Verizon Communications after 30 years holding jobs of increasing responsibility in sales, regulatory affairs, human resources, labor relations and real estate. During his last nine years with the company, he served as the Managing Director of the National Directory Services unit and managed all aspects of $700M mini-LOB.
Don is a CPA and holds Masters Degrees in Finance and Accounting from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD.
Jon is the Administrator, Operations and Small Business Development for the Carroll County Department of Economic Development. Beginning in the wholesale and supply industries, Jon developed a strong interest in the business practices of his customers – typically small businesses.
His passion for guiding small businesses to excellence evolved from a means to seeing that small customers became large customers to an emphasis on business consulting. In addition to a degree in Business Mgmt. from the Univ. of Maryland, he has earned an MBA from Loyola Univ. and a Juris Doctor from the Univ. of Maryland School of Law.
Matt Kohn is the Vice President of Kohn Creative. Kohn Creative is a full-service graphic design and marketing firm dedicated to making your business look good and succeed. His specialities include 3D design and fabrication, exhibits, trade shows, retail point of purchase displays, graphic design, signs, and videography. In his spare time he loves to play golf.
Mike is married to Marcia McMullin, his wife of over 28 years. Together they have 4 adult children and 3 grandchildren. Mike is originally from Chicago, Illinois where he received his BA in Communications from Loyola University. He spent 24 years with Pulte Homes, one of the nation’s largest residential homebuilders, running their Customer Relations Department.
His career with Pulte brought him to Maryland in 1989 and he has lived in Westminster since then. Mike changed careers in 2010 when he filled the role of President of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. In the past two years since accepting this position, Mike moved the Chamber office back onto Main Street in Westminster and has helped grow membership to over 500 businesses.
Russell J. Grimes is the President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of Carroll Bancorp, Inc. and Carroll Community Bank. He has been a director of Carroll Bancorp, Inc. since its inception and a director of Carroll Community Bank since 2008. From January 2007 to October 2008 he was a consultant to USBC, Inc., a Maryland company formed to organize a new bank to be called USBC Bank. Mr. Grimes has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of two other state chartered commercial banks prior to joining Carroll Community Bank and has served in senior management positions at large and small community banks for over 30 years, with management responsibility for financial, operations and control functions, and for major strategic initiatives.
